SMM, January 3: According to the SMM survey, as of this Thursday (January 2), the total zinc ingot inventory across seven regions tracked by SMM stood at 64,500 mt, down by 700 mt compared to December 26 but up by 2,000 mt compared to December 30, with domestic inventory recording an increase. In the Shanghai region, inventory increased as some imported zinc ingots continued to arrive during the week, replenishing market supply and leading to a slight overall inventory increase. In the Guangdong region, inventory decreased as warehouses in Guangdong received normal arrivals during the week, but outflows from warehouses for picking up goods were higher, resulting in a continued inventory decline. In the Tianjin region, inventory increased as warehouses in Tianjin received some arrivals during the week, and just-in-time procurement by downstream buyers led to a slight inventory growth. Overall, the original three regions recorded an inventory increase of 1,300 mt, while the seven regions recorded an increase of 2,000 mt.
